When you dive into creating, you never really know where your muse will lead. Sometimes, all you need is a pencil and a crayon, but more often, you’ll be reaching for ink, adding highlights with gouache, or brightening spots with a dash of acrylic. And yes, more then sometimes, you’ve gotta splash a bit of water, let the watercolor flow—and the more, the better! Graphite sticks glide like a dream, but you've also got your fountain pens and liners at the ready. Hell yeah.

We’d all love for every piece to come out flawless in one go, but the reality is, we’re constantly making tweaks. Another layer will fix it, or hey, just erase. And the paper? You need tons of it. Strong but flexible, smooth but not too smooth.

This is the artist’s world—and it’s mine too.

Each pattern ended up unique, even if I followed a similar style each time. When you buy one of these sketchbooks, you don’t choose the cover—you get a surprise every time.

I don’t need fancy colors—just give me the paper!

I started making it for artist friends who always seemed to want something different from my regular offerings. They’d say: “Give me that fantastic French, cotton paper, but not the thick kind—the thinner stuff. And just bind it in plain cardboard or something. I don’t need fancy colors—just give me the paper! Oh, and leave the torn edges rough—they look incredible. And for heaven’s sake, make it big!”

Ok! Alright!! I’d say.
But of course, I couldn’t just bind it in plain cardboard. Instead, I went for a super durable, eco-friendly Kraft Nature paper as the cover. And to make each sketchbook feel a bit special, I’d add hand-painted marks or splashes on the cover.

So here it is—born out of artist demands and my own creative spin.
