Surprisingly strong
I bought this little sketchbook so that I could have something small enough to carry around and draw in discretely. I even planned to do some light washes because I knew the paper was only 185gsm. Imagine my delighted surprise that this paper was able to handle more than just light washes. This paper was able to handle multiple layers with only minor crinkling. The colors lay flat and even and can even handle my very loose style of painting. This has become my new favorite for quick sketches and watercolor practice.
Love this paper for wet textures!!
My current favorite sketchbook for intuitive wet on wet painting with gouache and watercolor. Takes a beating and the 50% cotton/cellulose mix allows for interesting paint flow textures that 100% cotton papers don't. Hope you guys keep making this range! Would love a bigger size!

Zastanawiałam się nad zakupem od dawna, jednak nie miałam przekonania do okładki- kojarzyła mi się z dywanem babci ;-) Ale nic podobnego! Na żywo wszystko prezentuje się wspaniale; okładka jest piękna, wykonanie na najwyższym poziomie, a papier cudownie gładki. Szkicowniki kupiłam na prezent ale są tak piękne, że chyba sobie też sprawię :-)
It's time for a bigger format!
The last time I went for a traveller edition which was exellent till the last page. I couldn't wait long enough for the series rectivation and finally decided to go bigger for some stationary work.
As soon as I've opened the first page, it turned out they are pretty smooth for a CP which would go well with both writing and painting... hmm. Now I think I know what I'm going to do with this colossus...

The best watercolor sketchbook

I've aspired to own Koval sketchbooks for two years, finally succumbing to the allure of their beautiful pink and blue covers and convenient square format ?
